What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Shop Technician position at LPX Group?
Louisville Paving and Construction is seeking a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician with at least 5 years’ experience repairing, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting primarily CAT heavy construction equipment. In this role, mechanics will be responsible for repairs to the engine, electrical and hydraulic systems, among other duties.
Duties and Responsibilities –
§ Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain issues.
§ Diagnose and perform repairs using CAT ET and SIS.
§ Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
§ Work with minimal supervision and maintain a professional attitude.
§ Welding experience an asset.
§ Run routine maintenance.
§ Maintain equipment logs.
Skills and Abilities –
§ 3 to 5 years’ experience working on CAT heavy equipment products.
§ Field service experience will be given preference.
§ Successful candidates must have their own tools with a valid driver’s license in good standing.
§ Ability to work weekends for an on-call schedule.
Physical Requirements –
§ Lifting up to 75 lbs.
§ Standing for 6 hours a shift.
§ Twisting, bending and crawling regularly throughout a shift.
