What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lowboy/Landoll Truck Driver position at LPX Group?
Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Lowboy/Landoll Truck Driver to join our team. Someone that is safety-oriented and efficient to help with the transportation of Heavy Equipment and materials that will be used in building, repairing and paving of roads and construction sites. You will be responsible for safely operating a truck with a capacity of at least 80,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a heavy haul lowboy/landoll truck.
- Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times.
- Must have Heavy Hauling experience with paving and construction equipment and other heavy machinery using chains, straps and binders.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with others well and working knowledge of all FMCSA regulatory rules.
- Properly track and document activity log.
- Report any issues or incidents to dispatch.
- Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections.
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- Keep truck clean an orderly.
- Act and drive in a professional manner at all times.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
- Demonstrates a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays.
- Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 2 years’ experience in Heavy Haul related fields
- Commercial Class “A” driver's license required
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test/Ability to pass random drug tests
- D.O.T certified
- Ability to load and unload onto a detachable gooseneck trailer.
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Strong work ethic
