Job Summary:
Palm House is seeking a friendly, professional, and detail-oriented Banquet Server to join our exceptional Food & Beverage team. The Banquet Server will be responsible for providing outstanding service to guests during events, including weddings, corporate meetings, banquets, and special occasions. Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Service: Provide outstanding service to banquet guests, ensuring all needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
- Setup and Breakdown: Assist in setting up banquet spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, glassware, silverware, and décor, ensuring everything is in place according to event specifications. After the event, assist in breaking down and cleaning the space.
- Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to guests according to event specifications, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of service.
- Guest Interaction: Greet guests as they arrive and ensure their comfort throughout the event. Respond promptly to any special requests or inquiries.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the banquet area clean and organized during the event, including clearing plates, glasses, and utensils promptly.
- Event Coordination: Work closely with the Banquet Manager and team to ensure smooth service and anticipate guest needs throughout the event.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service and a positive guest experience.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all Palm House policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including food safety and sanitation protocols.
- Upselling and Promotions: Promote additional services such as beverages or specialty items, when appropriate, to enhance the guest experience.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a banquet or restaurant setting is preferred, but not required.
Customer Service: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure event setup is accurate and service is executed flawlessly.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, typically for several hours at a time during events.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry trays, glassware, and other items up to 25 pounds.
- Bending and Stooping: Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to clear tables, assist guests, and set up event spaces.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to carry out tasks such as serving food and beverages, refilling water glasses, and adjusting table settings.
- Mobility: Must be able to move quickly and efficiently through the event space to provide excellent service and support to guests.
