Security Officer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a diligent, reliable, and professional Security Officer to join our team. The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and premises. This role involves patrolling the property, monitoring surveillance systems, and enforcing security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings and grounds to ensure the safety of all personnel and property.
• Respond promptly and effectively to any security or safety-related incidents.
• Ensure that all security equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions.
• Operate surveillance equipment and monitor cameras to detect suspicious activities.
• Enforce security regulations and maintain a visible presence to deter criminal activity.
• Prepare accurate and timely reports of incidents, accidents, or irregularities.
• Provide assistance to emergency responders and cooperate with law enforcement when necessary.
• Perform routine checks on doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are securely closed.
• Escort individuals as needed for their safety or during high-risk situations.
• Handle and resolve disturbances or conflicts calmly and professionally.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional security-related certifications or training is a plus.
• Proven experience as a security officer or in a related field.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, sound decisions.
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in stressful situations.
• Physical fitness and stamina to patrol and stand for long periods.
• Basic knowledge of security equipment, surveillance systems, and emergency response procedures.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for long periods, typically 8 hours or more.
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations, including running or physically subduing individuals when necessary.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to hear to detect suspicious activities and respond to alarms.
• Ability to handle various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, etc., while performing outdoor patrols.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, and crouch to inspect property and perform various tasks.
• Capable of handling physical confrontations or disturbances, including standing firm during stressful situations.
