As a Clinical Counselor, you will exercise discretion and judgement in applying your advance knowledge in counseling and aiding individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance use/misuse in an outpatient setting. Under regular supervision of a Program Manager, you will provide compassionate and appropriate care for the Adult patient population through group and individual treatment services.
Position Logistics
- Full-time, 34-hour work week (4 days a week)
- Routinely 8:00 am – 5:00 pm shifts Monday – Thursday. Daytime and evening hours are required, with a flex schedule as approved by the supervisor.
- Hiring salary range: $48,000 - $62,000 (Level and compensation will be commensurate with experience and licensure.)
Education, Experience & Licensure Requirements
- A Master’s degree in a human services field is required.
- Experience performing the essential duties of the position for substance use/misuse populations is highly preferred.
- Licensure in the helping professions is required: LMSW, LAC, LPC, LMFT, LISW (licensure dictates the level of the position.)
- Certified as an Advanced/Alcohol and Drug Counselor through Addiction Professionals of South Carolina, or ability to complete the certification process within the required timeframe, required.
Position Overview
- Provides evidence-based, best practice therapeutic interventions to individuals, groups, and families with substance use disorders, mental illness, and/or co-occurring disorders.
- Utilizes crisis intervention counseling as necessary
- Develops, maintains, monitors and updates, as necessary, individualized plans of care for assigned patients
- Manages and monitors patient progress, identifies patient needs, and maintains clinical documentation in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards
- Participates in regularly scheduled clinical supervision with assigned Program Manager
- Collaborates with other members of the treatment team to provide case consultation and case management services to all patients
