What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Director / Accounting Manager position at LRK?

LRK is seeking a Finance Director / Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team. Responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and taxes.
- Manage month-end closing processes including invoicing meetings with project managers, journal entries, revenue recognition, financial statement preparation, and financial KPI dashboard preparation.
- Understand and assess current practices, processes, and internal controls, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor cash flow and oversee all treasury management functions.
- Manage, develop, and coach accounting staff in their assigned duties.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Skills/Qualities:
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including revenue recognition principles.
- Working knowledge of project costing and ability to ensure proper cost recording to projects.
- Ability to work with project managers and project accountants to ensure project setups and financial items regarding projects are handled accurately and in a timely manner.
- Full working knowledge of internal controls needed in day-to-day accounting operations.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply data and information from complex contracts.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from accredited institution.
- CPA required
- 7 years of relevant experience in the accounting field, including 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in the professional services industry.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with other financial systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to understand and diagnose the root cause of an issue by being detail oriented, organized and productive.
