Role purpose:
Perform surveys of design, manufacture and in-service aspects of engineering assets for compliance against specified Codes, Standards, specifications and procedures. Assess and monitor the performance of other surveyors using knowledge and experience as appropriate for complex/demanding situations to ensure service delivery. This role may include managing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform complex technical inspections/assessments against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed broad parameters that include budget constraints and contractual requirements.
Mentor, coach, give technical guidance to colleagues as appropriate to build capability, capacity and support networks to leverage knowledge transfer and application.
Assess/recommend the time/value of the work to be undertaken for internal/external clients within an agreed fee/cost structure and issue quotations up to an agreed limit and LRQA’s standard terms and conditions meeting job/project requirements.
Undertake project management, where applicable, including monitoring project progress and spend against budget and contract requirements
Ensure the appropriate authorisations are gained and are kept up to date. This may involve Activity Monitoring.
Seek new opportunities with existing clients and identify new clients within the region, supporting Sales and Marketing activities
Contribute to external client management; ensuring service delivery is continually improved through monitoring and acting on client feedback.
Ensure all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards.
Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge and awareness.
Key health & safety responsibilities:
Eliminate or minimise employee exposure to risks by regularly reviewing the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessments, and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LRQA activities.
Manage your own, and your team’s, compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems and legal requirements to ensure employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviours in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:
Must have a relevant Batchelor’s degree from a recognised University, or equivalent. Higher degree such as Masters may be required for some positions
Shall possess appropriate trade/technical/vocational qualifications/certification, including job-specific certifications such as ASME, PED etc
Preferably a qualified member of a recognised professional body e.g. www.nspe.org, www.cae.cn, www.engc.org.uk, www.ecindia.org . Likely to be working towards Chartered/Professional Engineer
Will possess sufficient, relevant previous working experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant requirements, knowledge and application
Technical competencies to be assessed within the authorisations’ framework will be unsupervised for some authorisations and may be supervised for others.
Competent in MS Office suite of software
Proficiency in English language commensurate with the work (both written and verbal)
Effective interpersonal skills
Likely to have 10 years’ relevant working experience
