Position Title: General Ledger Supervisor (Remote)

Reports To: Associate Director of Corporate Accounting.
Position Summary
There are two components to this highly visible role:
Oversee the Monthly Close Process
The role’s main responsibility is to successfully oversee the Company’s monthly process to close the SAP ledger. This involves serving as the main contact on general ledger inquiries from the Company’s business segments during the close period. The role reports to the Associate Director of Corporate Accounting.
As the General Ledger Supervisor for the CoE Accounting function, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading the close process, overseeing the relationship with the offshore team, preparing journal entries and reconciliations for complex areas, and identifying and implementing improvements associated with the close process.
Projects
The second part of this role is project-based. The General Supervisor has an integral role in the Company’s significant transactions, such as acquisitions, dispositions and ledger consolidation projects. Additionally, the role is involved in accounting integration efforts related to acquisitions. This part of the role requires strong project management and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Company’s monthly process to close the SAP ledger, which includes hosting calls for all accounting teams, troubleshooting issues and ensuring all system tasks are completed timely
- Lead the relationship with the offshore team’s Supervisor and staff
- Review the offshore team’s monthly deliverables, including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial analyses
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations related to certain areas, including payroll and benefits
- Lead the review of intercompany transactions, which includes investigating variances and providing trainings across the Company
- Work closely with other departments/business segments to address their questions and provide trainings
- Identify and lead efficiency projects to improve the monthly close process
- Serve as a key contact for inquiries regarding the general ledger
- Provide guidance related to acquisitions and dispositions and prepare entries related to these transactions
- Assist in acquisition integration efforts to ensure there is proper mapping between the new company’s ledger and the Company’s SAP ledger
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
- 1-2 years of Supervisor or Manager experience
- Experience in the General Ledger department of a large corporation with oversight of offshore resources
- Understanding of multi-entity accounting and intercompany eliminations
- Strong experience with SAP
- Highly analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, time management and decision-making skills
- Ability to cross-functionally interact with all levels of management
- Ability to complete all responsibilities timely, accurately and with high quality
- Ability to work independently to drive analysis and cross-functionally with other departments/business segments to achieve business objectives
