The Flight Coordinator position is an important customer-driven role of our catering operations since it interacts face-to-face with the flight crew of our airline customers to address needs, solve problems, provide solutions and ensure that our customers receive excellent customer service based on each flight's specific catering requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure flight is complete and fully prepared for departure in a timely fashion.
- Ensure the delivery of high quality service in all aspects of flight.
- Add or subtract meals for assigned flights as necessary, including special and crew meals.
- Add or subtract equipment for flights as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Applicants Must Be Able to:
- Work assigned schedule which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
- Work overtime when required.
- Must have valid driver’s license and ability to obtain airport access SIDA badge with Hologram.
- Must be able to spend about 4 hours of the work day in the cooler (temperature 40 degrees Fahrenheit) to complete meal inspections before food carts are released to the Transportation team.
- Must be willing to drive on the airfield (company vehicle) and pass the Ground Motor Vehicle Driving Test to receive a badge with a yellow stripe.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment and follow Good Manufacturing Practices as required.
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to interface with flight crew displaying professionalism and knowledge.
- Ability to comprehend flight menus and flight galley specifications.
- Ability to understand flight boarding bills.
- Ability to conduct spec checks on finished product to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, coworkers and customer personnel.
- Detail oriented, strong teamwork and decision-making skills.
Environmental Requirements:
This position requires work in a variety of physical environments, including inside a holding cooler near 40°F.
This position requires physical activity - walking, bending, lifting and pushing 50 lbs.
