Role Purpose Statement
The Director of IT Operations will oversee the management and execution of all IT operational functions within the organization. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, security, and scalability of IT services, and systems. The Director will lead teams to maintain operational excellence, streamline processes, and deliver high-performance technology solutions that support business objectives.
Main Accountabilities
Leadership and Management
Lead and manage the IT operations team, including IT Procurement, Vendor Management, License Management and M365 administration.
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure optimal IT service delivery.
Mentor, train, and develop IT staff to enhance their performance and career growth.
IT Systems Management
Ensure timely and efficient incident, problem, and change management to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Implement and maintain robust disaster recovery, business continuity, and backup procedures.
Develop strategies for performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of issues.
Vendor and Budget Management
Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.
Negotiate contracts, manage service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensure vendors meet performance expectations.
Develop and manage the IT operations budget, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with business goals.
Strategic Planning and Innovation
Collaborate with other IT leadership to align IT operations with the organization's strategic goals.
Lead the adoption of new technologies and approaches to improve IT efficiency and performance.
Evaluate emerging trends in IT operations and make recommendations for innovation.
Reporting and Communications
Prepare and present regular reports on the status of IT operations, performance metrics, incidents, and projects.
Communicate effectively with senior leadership and business stakeholders regarding IT operations strategies and challenges.
Foster a culture of transparency and collaboration across the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and IT service management.
- Experience with enterprise-level IT systems and applications
- Experience managing a Managed Service Provider contracted relationship.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
