Role Purpose Statement We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our team. This is a Field position with responsibility for monitoring driver SOP and working with the department to ensure compliance; in addition to maintaining and monitoring employee safety within our buildings. The ideal candidate will have a background in ramp or safety experience or have recently supervisory experience. We have multiple positions available. You must be able to work 4am to 12 : 30pm or 3pm to 11 : 30pm (Schedule will be either Wednesday through Sunday or Thursday through Monday) and be available to work nights and weekends as operations require. Main Accountabilities
- Responsible for SOP training for all new drivers and re-training of drivers
- Responsible for updating and maintaining all driver files
- Processing of all Port Authority / Customs identifications
- Ensure all State inspections, registrations and Insurance ID’s for trucks are current
- Responsible for ensuring all drivers adhere to A-1 Inspection procedures
- Assist the Ramp Safety Supervisor as needed and perform other clerical duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Mus possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain Airport SIDA badge and CBP Customs Seal within 30 days of hire
- 3-5 years of safety experience preferred; AOA ramp experience may be substituted year for year for Safety experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and other computer applications
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with large groups – must be flexible
- Open availability, ability to work nights and weekends as operations require
