Summary:
The Courseware Developer I develops Computer-Based Training (CBT) materials using commercial off-the-shelf and/or company-created software tools, including the structuring of user-computer interfaces and the implementation of graphic, animation, text, and audio files.
Essential Job Functions:
- Use commercial off-the-shelf and company-developed authoring systems to create Interactive Courseware (ICW) and Instructor-Led Training (IL T) materials.
- Write text, gather graphics and assemble other onscreen elements to create clear and concise onscreen presentations of information in accordance with the prescribed guidance for the specific project.
- Use scripting technologies to implement simple interactivity and navigation logic into courseware products.
- Choose and implement transition effects, simple graphics, and custom buttons to make the products more compelling and effective.
- Work with a team of Subject Matter Experts (SME), Instructional Designers (ID), Graphic Specialist (GS), and other CWDs to analyze, design and develop training courses and computer-based training products.
- Attend training conferences, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and other required meetings.
- Must be aware of International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) restrictions on export of military hardware and training services.
- Work under supervision to proactively develop training materials.
- Responsible for the safe handling of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Information (GFI).
- May be required to work occasionally outside of normal hours due to travel, availability of training equipment, time-shared work benches or aircraft, as specified by the contract.
- Work a standard weekly schedule of 40 hours with overtime as required.
- Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, graphics and other desktop publishing applications.
- Must be familiar with scripting technologies (e.g. Java Script and HTML).
- Basic knowledge of graphic file formats.
- Possess good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Able to work in a team concept to accomplish common goals.
- Ability to analyze and interpret instructions and standards.
- Must interact with military and other government personnel using the appropriate dialect and affording the proper courtesies while observing the correct customs.
- Possess interpersonal skills to accept assignments and communicate technical concepts in layman's terms.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment (i.e. printers, scanners, copiers, fax machines and telephone, and other audio-visual equipment).
- Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance and pass background checks to obtain a base access pass to military installations and contractor facilities as required by the contract.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience with a commercial off-the-shelf authoring program or other CBT development experience.
- Experience with Java Script and HTML.
- Additional qualifications or experience as required by the Statement of Work.
- 9502 OR 805A instructor Navy Enlisted Classification preferred.
- Master Training Specialist (MTS)
Salary : $42,600 - $54,000
