What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication position at LSI Staffing?
GENERAL SUMMARY: Operates various pieces of fabrication equipment that cut, punch, drill, or bend metal. Makes own setups, changes own tools and dies, and does minor maintenance of equipment and tools. Deburrs own parts as required. May be required to operate two or more machines simultaneously. Performs other work as directed by the Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Requires continuous standing on concrete surfaces. Requires frequent bending and walking. Occasional squatting, sitting, kneeling and overhead reaching. Requires occasional lifting and carrying over short distances of parts weighing 50 pounds. Occasional lifting of 80 pounds from floor to waist level and occasional pushing and pulling of materials requiring 80 pounds of force to initiate movement. Requires continuously operating machinery with buttons, levers, and switches. Twisting and turning of the body to handle material into and out of fabrication machinery may be performed.
EXPECTATIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Regular attendance and starting on time are essential. Responsible for the quality of his/her own work and to not accept poor quality workmanship from others. As fabrication is frequently the first operation, is responsible to verify that the proper material is being used. Expected to perform at acceptable quality and performance levels and strive for continuous improvement.
