Maintenance Technician
Reports to : Maintenance Manager with dotted line to Plant Manager
Compensation : This is an hourly position. Pay rates Commensurate with experience. 22$ to 28$
Schedule : May vary. Must have a flexible schedule. Being on-call, working weekends, day shift or night shift, and overtime is often necessary and required.
Screening Requirements : Candidates must successfully pass a drug screen, physical, and criminal background check.
Perform preventative maintenance, modifications, updates, and enhancements to machinery.
Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct electrical problems in the power distribution, electrical equipment and lighting systems.
Work to meet current electrical codes and company policy and practice.
Select proper equipment size, wire and conduit sizes, breaker, switch, and fuse sizes.
Documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Experience or relevant education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Experience or relevant education in electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair of automated assembly and blow molding equipment.
Experience or relevant education working with Seimens PLCS ladder logic controls and troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of industrial electricity at the 480 Vac level.
Experience or relevant education with industrial control circuits – control relays, motor starters, induction motors, transformers, fuses, disconnect switches, ladder logic, multi-meters, etc.
Able to read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blue prints, mechanical and electrical diagrams.
Ability to plan a task and create a material list.
Knowledge of automatization equipment (conveying, deflashing, etc.).
Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
Must be flexible and have a positive attitude.
Must work well both independently and within a team.
Must be well-organized, efficient, and detail-oriented.
Must be proficient with Email, Word, and Excel. SAP knowledge strongly preferred.
Essential Physical Functions :
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to consistently bend and stoop.
Must be able to withstand working in all weather conditions- Work environments are not climate controlled.
Must have good manual dexterity to work with small parts and small tools.
Regular use of tools and office equipment requires some degree of co-ordination, speed and concentration.
Must be comfortable with and able to work in small and confined spaces.
Must be comfortable with heights.
Work Environment :
Most tasks and responsibilities require working in a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant. – (exposure to outdoor and disagreeable conditions typical to a non-climate controlled manufacturing plant.)
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The employee is regularly exposed to high noise environments.
The employee may be exposed to extremely dusty environments.
The employee may be exposed to chemicals used in the process.
When in the plant Personal Protective Equipment includes but is not limited to : safety footwear, eye, hearing and hand protection.
