POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Material Handling Operator is responsible for providing leadership and flexibility on the shift for the support functions of Supply Chain, Quality, Production. The Material Handling Operator is responsible for supporting group/plant objectives and the day-to-day proper processing of raw materials and finished goods through the production cycle to meet internal and external customer demands. This includes; shift safety; modification to the shift schedule as needed, troubleshooting/coordinating all shift issues (with the understanding of when to escalate to functional leaders), picking, staging, cycle counting, and putting away raw materials, along with receiving and putting away finished goods (FG’s).
Duties/Responsibilities
Facilitates and executes the timely and accurate delivery of materials to the production lines
- Responsible for accurate inventory management: receive and put away finished goods
- Responsible for picking and staging raw materials to and from the line: concentrates, compounded material, corrugate, regrind, and pallets § Printing of production orders & verifying the BOM is correct
- Accurately weighing and labeling raw materials
- Maintaining a finished goods cycle count accuracy of at least 99.5% · Completes cycle counts of finished goods, raw materials, and stockroom · Audits and ensures accuracy of Mii/Factory Plus throughout the shift
- Assist Production as needed (i.e., break coverage, carton erection, etc...)
- Prints all labels for the shifts
- Can safely, accurately and efficiently unload rail cars, bulk trucks and assist with LTL, UPS, and equipment deliveries
- Assists in daily tie-outs with Shift Supervisor
- Assist in the loading of finished goods, raw materials, recyclables, and regrind
- Knowledge of the rail unloading system: check measurements, switch silos, clean out compartments Production · Being able to detect burns, color streaks, short shots, gas marks and flash and communicate this to proper people
· Grind bad parts in appropriate grinder. · Inspects, trims, sorts, counts, and packages parts. · Be trained on appropriate work instructions to operate secondary equipment · Can locate and comprehend work instructions to ensure proper boxes, labels, and pallet count · Learn proper boxing techniques to insure parts are boxed properly · Ensure that good parts are not placed in regrind
Equipment · Is trained/proficient on the following equipment: · Certified on powered industrial trucks required for position · Floor sweeper · Shock Watch/GemOne on forklifts · Bailers: cardboard and plastic wrap · Stretch wrapper · Scissor & Genie Lift · Understands the Vehicle and Pedestrian Standard & Loading & Unloading Standard
· High School diploma or GED required
· Up to 5 years of general manufacturing, warehouse or equivalent experience
· Forklift certification or past experience preferred
· Intermediate computer skills
Shift: 6:45am-3pm M-F
Pay: $21.50/hr
