Student Life Advisors
The primary duty of the Student Life Advisor (SLA) is to create and maintain a positive living/learning
environment for the residents in their care. Each SLA works independently with their group of residents
(approximately 36 residents) in the newly constructed Living and Learning Commons, a 110,000 square foot, 4
story/3 tower residence hall featuring double-occupancy rooms within 10 independent hall “neighborhoods.”
The salary for this position is $24,500.
The full-time, 10-month SLA will be required to live on-site in a one-bedroom suite that includes a private
office, living area, full kitchen, private bath, and free washer/dryer access; a weekly 19-meal plan is included
when residents are on campus. This position includes all benefits afforded to Louisiana State employees
including, participation in the Louisiana State Teachers’ Retirement plan.
Resident Advisors
The primary duty of the Resident Advisor (RA) is to assist the SLA as they work to create and maintain a
positive living/learning environment for the residents in their care. Each RA works independently with their
floor of residents (approximately 36 residents) in the newly constructed Living and Learning Commons, a
110,000 square foot, 4 story/3 tower residence hall featuring double-occupancy rooms within 10 independent
hall “neighborhoods.”
The salary for this position is $10,000.
The part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), 10-month RA will be required to live on-site in a 1-
bedroom, one-bath apartment that includes a living area, full kitchen, adjoining office/balcony, and free
washer/dryer access; they are entitled to a weekly 19-meal plan when residents are on campus.
The period of employment for both positions for the 2024-2025 academic year runs from approximately July
22, 2024, through May 31, 2025, with the possibility of employment renewal for up to two additional academic
years. Successful applicants will receive ample time off surrounding holidays and extended weekends when the
campus is closed to students.
