Summary:
The maintenance technicians will perform maintenance/repair work for all LSPT equipment, to include utilizing the systems to track repair work, parts used, etc. Maintenance technicians will work under the direction of the Lead Maintenance Technician to ensure all LSPT equipment is properly maintained and operating safely. The fleet consists of new and thoroughly maintained state-of-the-art assets and an in-house maintenance shop. We are experiencing significant growth and are looking to add a new member to our maintenance team with opportunities for growth and advancement! The hourly rate will be based on experience between $27 - $29 an hour with annual reviews and hourly rate increases based on performance. The working hours are 7:00 am - 5:30 pm, either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday, you will be required to work at least one day during the weekend.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all company equipment as needed/required. This includes, but is not limited to, engine, transmission, chassis, body, brake, electrical, and welding work on trucks and trailers. Program and repair flow meters, collision avoidance devices, electronic log devices (ELD), and cameras. Use variety of diagnostic software and equipment, including, but not limited to, Cummins Insite, Bendix, and Meritor.
- Complete preventive maintenance on all equipment as scheduled.
- Prove trailers as scheduled.
- Maintain maintenance logs according to requirements.
- Maintain shop facilities in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
- Complete all work in a safe, effective, and timely manner consistent with company safety policies and performance standards.
- Participate in on-call program as scheduled. Serve as first contact for incoming “after-hour” calls to answer questions, inquiries, and troubleshoot problems. Available and fit for duty for call-out, if required.
- Other duties as required by direct supervisor or other terminal management.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient with PC and Windows operating systems
- Proficient using Cummins Insite, Bendix, Meritor, or equivalent diagnostic software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Travel 5% – 10%
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field or 3 years direct, hands-on experience as a commercial Class 8 tractor mechanic.
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Associate degree in Automotive Technology or related field
- 3 years direct, hands-on experience working on tank trailers, van trailers, flatbed trailers and all related parts, systems, etc.
- Current CDL with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements
- Proficient using Paccar ESA, DAVIE4, or similar diagnostic equipment.
- Welding experience
