LSU Health Sciences Center, Human Development Center, seeks to hire an Assistant Professor
clinical track). The Assistant Professor will provide leadership, support and overall supervision
of approximately 20 faculty and staff that work in HDC’s Education Transition and Community
ETC) initiative area. The incumbent will secure and manage extramurally funded projects
related to the mission of the Human Development Center (i.e., building the capacity of
community partners, health, education, rehabilitation, and other service providers, as well as
families to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities are supported to fully
participate in all aspects of community living. This position also plans, creates and provides in-
service and continuing education training to individuals working in a wide range of professional
disciplines related to evidence-based practices designed to support individuals with
developmental disabilities to participate fully in all aspects of community living. In addition,
this position will participate as a member of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental
and related Disabilities (LEND) grant faculty. Finally, the successful candidate is expected to
establish a line of scholarly inquiry / research.
The successful candidate must have a minimum of three years’ experience designing and
implementing training and coaching of community partners, health, education, rehabilitation, and
other service providers, and a record of securing extramural funding to support programs and
services. Master’s degree required (Master’s 30 Specialist degree or Doctoral degree
preferred) in Special Education, a Special Education Related Services field, Psychology, Social
Work, or other related Human Services field.
