Position Summary : A Bioinformatics Analyst or Bioinformatics Analyst Senior position is available in the Department of Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center ( LSUHSC ) in New Orleans. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and providing statistical interpretations of research findings in complex experimental and survey design studies in the Division of Vascular Surgery. They will also play a crucial role in data organization, checking for integrity and validity, merging and extracting data from electronic databases, writing advanced SAS, and developing summaries of research findings. Incumbent will assist with summarization, analysis, visualization, and organization of data for publication, as well as with the preparation of grant applications. The position requires a high level of organization and reliability, flexible hours, intrinsic motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Education : Master's in Epidemiology, Bioinformatics, Computational Genomics, Computer Science or closely related quantitative field.
Experience Required : Bioinformatics Analyst - 1 year; Bioinformatics Analyst Senior - 3-4 years of relevant professional level experience. A PhD with 0-2 years of experience may substitute for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education : PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Genomics, Computer Science or closely related quantitative field.
Preferred Experience : PhD with 0-2 years of professional level experience.
