Position Summary
The incumbent will participate in the development, implementation and coordination of in-house and online training programs/initiatives for classified and unclassified employees. Provides logistical support for all performance management projects and talent development initiatives. This includes completing tracking reporting and follow-up correspondence with managers and employees across the organization. The incumbent will support New Employee Orientation and Onboarding logistics and administration, including scheduling, participant registration and tracking, and correspondence. The incumbent will support records management related to training compliance and performance management initiatives. The incumbent will have frequent and often first contact with all campus constituencies.
This role includes performance on diversified and technical tasks in the maintenance of all human resources functions with concentration in training, and organizational development.
Additional Position Information
Professional Development/Course Management
- Coordinate and facilitate bi-weekly New Employee Orientation (NEO) sessions. NEO is a full-day campus orientation event, which entails coordination with multiple administrative areas, including Chancellor and Vice Chancellor offices.
- Creates and disseminates survey/feedback tools to NEO participants, tracks responses, and compiles data metrics. Analyzes data and proposes content, process, and/or logistical changes; initiates implementation of changes with supervisor approval.
- Serves as LSUHSC’s Comprehensive Public Training Program (CPTP) Training Coordinator.
- Schedules CPTP courses with Department of State Civil Service (DSCS) and coordinates room reservations and A/V equipment.
- Organizes and maintains calendar for the state CPTP courses and LSUHSC HR-sponsored courses.
- Advises staff on CPTP course selection for professional development purposes and assists them with scheduling courses.
- Distributes CPTP course materials and registration expectations to course participants to ensure a high attendance rate for classroom courses
- Notifies classified supervisors of minimum DSCS supervisory training requirements and monitors compliance.
- Monitors compliance with Executive Order legislative Act 377 required PES training and notifies employees of non-compliance.
Talent Development Initiatives
- Assists with development and implementation of Talent Development initiatives/courses.
- Searches actively for training opportunities/methodologies and assesses applicability of the topics/methods to leadership, management, and individuals. Proposes training topics/modules/methodologies that align with the strategic goals/direction of the HR Department and the University.
- Collaborates with Talent Development team on the creation of strategic Talent Development marketing materials.
- Coordinates and provides logistical support for all HR-sponsored professional development initiatives, including monthly HR Liaison meetings, informational sessions, training sessions, etc.
- Prepares and distributes related materials to participants, including handouts, presentation slides, minutes, etc.
- Ensures necessary meeting spaces and A/V equipment are scheduled and available for course offerings.
- Creates and disseminates survey/feedback tools to participants, tracks responses, and compiles data metrics. Analyzes data and proposes content, process, and/or logistical changes; initiates implementation of changes with supervisor approval.
- Maintains records of HR department sponsored/facilitated professional development activities
- Organizes and maintains all necessary course materials as a reference library of documents from prior meetings.

- Reviews performance evaluations for compliance.
- Advises staff regarding rights of appeal, and reviews employee appeal requests for compliance with PDP policy.

PeopleSoft (PS) and Website Administrative Support
- Oversees the Continuous Performance Management (CPM) program, assuring compliance with CPM rules.
- Notifies supervisors of CPM deadlines and follows up to ensure target dates are met.
- Communicate with supervisors during an employee’s probationary period in order to track obtainment of permanent status.
- Reviews CPM completion throughout the year for new hires, promotions, and other applicable job changes.
- Advises staff regarding CPM rights of appeal.
- Receive CPM appeal requests and coordinate appeal process with Talent Development team.
- Runs basic reports to provide periodic updates to Talent Development Manager regarding CPM completion.
PeopleSoft (PS) and Website Administrative Support
- Reviews the HR Talent Development website periodically and coordinates updates with Talent Development Manager.
- Maintains up-to-date calendar of HR-sponsored and DSCS-sponsored training events.
- Inputs relevant data such as records of enrollment, course completion, and course credit into appropriate database(s) to enable accurate training metrics/reporting.
Assist other areas of Human Resource in projects and programs as needed.
