Position Summary
The is skilled work mainly operating and maintaining motor vehicles and rolling equipment to accomplish transportation, maintenance or construction tasks.
Possess a valid Driver’s License for state of residence, or obtain within 90 calendar days of hiring date, and maintain validity.
Knowledge of general motor vehicle and rolling equipment operation and maintenance techniques, methods and procedures.
Skill in performing general motor vehicle and rolling equipment operation and maintenance functions.
Ability to complete general motor vehicle and rolling equipment operation and maintenance duties and responsibilities. Ability to read and interpret a greater New Orleans metropolitan road map.
Ability to use hand tools and power tools and equipment properly.
Ability to carry, erect, climb, and maneuver on ladders and/or scaffolds; work in tight and awkward spaces; work off ofroofs, cat walks, and other elevated areas.
Ability to carry or otherwise move loads of 50 pounds or more (pipe, wire, tool boxes, etc.).
Ability to understand and apply University rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather and within extreme temperature ranges.
Visual ability, corrected, to observe people and/or vehicles moving through the work area in order to redirect work orequipment to avoid injuries to the people or damage to the vehicles.
Ability to communicate information effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

LSU Health New Orleans Division of Facility Services is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Mobile Equipment Operator 2. There are multiple vacancies.
Persons applying must possess a valid Driver’s License for state of residence, or obtain within 90 calendar days of hiring date, and maintain validity.
Starting rate of pay is 17.18 per hour with an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only. Rate of pay may be adjusted Dependent upon applicants’ qualifications.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- properly and safely operate the following equipment: Bobcat tractor, passenger van, pickup truck, dump body truck, stake body truck, sweeper, power washer truckster, rental equipment and other equipment used in daily or for special purpose tasks
- picks up parts and materials from vendors;
- transports coworkers or other persons between-points on and/or off institution grounds
- building exterior clean-up
- tree maintenance
- intramural field maintenance
- assists other departments as assigned
- work orders and special events
