Position Summary
LSU Health New Orleans School of Nursing is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our faculty as a school of nursing excellence within an academic health sciences center environment. Our nursing faculty have the opportunity to educate future nurses at the BSN, MN/MSN, PhD and DNP level, including state-of-the-art simulation laboratories; conduct nursing & interdisciplinary research; engage in faculty practice, including our nurse-run clinics; pursue entrepreneurial and consultative activities; and serve as a nursing leader and development of leadership skills through our Emergent Nurse Leader Program. Additional Position Information
Incumbent will be responsible for the academic coordination & operational management of the neonatal nurse practitioner program (“NNP”) of study to assure the quality of the educational program with primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and coordination of student didactic and clinical learning experiences; Participate in student recruitment and retention activity; Monitor student progressive statistics and program outcomes; Coordinate the development, review and revision of admissions, progression and graduation policies and procedures for the program; Serve as academic advisor and mentor students; Assist in preparation of annual reports, and any other report or correspondence required by AAC, LSBN or any other authoritative or regulatory body; Ensure NNP program remains in compliance with standards/criteria set by LSBN, NANN, NONPF, CCNE, and National Certification Corporation; Engage in professional leadership; Maintain competence in teaching, clinical practice, research, and professional service; Actively participate as a member of the School of Nursing administrative team; Collaborate with other nursing programs and professional schools to maximize educational resources & promote inter-professional collaboration; Teach NNP courses and coordinate courses; and Facilitate clinical placement of NNP Students.
