The Manager for Compliance and Investigation is primarily responsible for managing the daily activities of the staff, organizing, and assisting with ongoing investigations and compliance activities. This is a Mid-Level Management position responsible for assisting in the planning and supervising of compliance operations and human resource investigation activities for LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport campuses. This position is responsible for assisting the Chief Compliance and Investigation Officer and other departmental leadership in addressing all aspects of compliance, such as: research compliance, clinical trials compliance, HIPPA, FERPA, and institutional and organizational compliance. This position is responsible for managing the daily activities of staff and actively participating in the process of conducting human resource management-related investigations professionally and objectively. The manager will monitor the LSU Ethics, Integrity, and Misconduct Helpline for incoming reports of alleged misconduct; monitor laws, regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and best practices; and communicate any updates to the Chief Compliance and Investigation Officer, other departmental leadership, and staff regularly. The manager will also provide guidance and advice and participate in providing training to all internal stakeholders to improve their understanding of related laws, policies, procedures, and potential risks.
This position reports to the Chief Compliance and Investigation Officer and other Office for Compliance and Investigation leadership. Regular attendance is required to perform its functions. It is NOT a remote position.
Essential Position Functions & Duties
40% Compliance and Investigation Operations Management
This is a Mid-Level Management position responsible for assisting in the planning and

The assistant director will monitor the LSU Ethics, Integrity, and Misconduct Helpline for incoming reports of alleged misconduct; monitor laws, regulatory requirements, policies, procedures, and best practices; and communicate any updates to the Chief Compliance and Investigation Officer and staff regularly.
Maintains regular communication with the Chief Compliance and Investigation Officer and other departmental leadership.
40% Compliance and Investigations
This position is responsible for managing the daily activities of staff and actively participating
in the process of developing and conducting compliance activities and human resource management-related investigations professionally and objectively.
10% Staffing and Management
Provide subject matter expertise and support to the Chief Compliance and Investigation Officer and other departmental leadership. Participate in effectively supervising, managing, motivating, training, and developing a high-performing team of compliance and investigation professionals. The manager will also provide guidance and advice and participate in providing training to all internal stakeholders to improve their understanding of related laws, policies, procedures, and potential risks.
10% Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
The applicant must meet the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Auditing, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field, plus (4) years of in-depth experience in Investigations, Compliance, or Audit.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Certified Internal Auditor and/or a Certified Public Accountant.
- The following Certifications are preferred: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association; Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners; Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors; Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
