What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onboarding Specialist (On-Site Position) position at LSU HEALTH SCIENCES CENTER-SHREVEPORT?

Description
- Partner with hiring managers and departments to develop and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new faculty and staff.
- Develop and maintain onboarding materials, including checklists, schedules, and informational packets.
- Coordinate pre-boarding activities such as collecting new hire paperwork, scheduling equipment set-up, and arranging access to IT systems, parking, badge access etc.
- Schedule and conduct new hire orientation sessions, providing an overview of the medical school, benefits, policies, and resources.
- Facilitate introductions to key colleagues and departments.
- Assist new hires with navigating administrative processes, including benefits enrollment, payroll set-up, and IT support.
- Track onboarding progress and address any questions or concerns new hires may have during their first weeks.
- Monitor and analyze onboarding effectiveness, and recommend improvements to the onboarding process.
- Maintain accurate records of all onboarding activities.
- Other duties as assigned by CHRO and Manager.
Regular attendance is required to perform the essential functions below. Normal working hours are 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Additional hours may be required.
Qualifications
Applicant must meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in onboarding or a related field, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging presentations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of medical school culture and compliance procedures a plus.
