Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated SUE Technician II to support our Utility Mapping team. This role involves fieldwork, data collection, and analysis to locate and map underground utilities, contributing to the success of infrastructure and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on field experience, and a passion for safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform utility designation, locating, and mapping using electromagnetic equipment, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and other advanced technologies.
• Collect accurate field data and document utility information for project reports and deliverables.
• Interpret utility maps, construction drawings, and as-built plans.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve conflicts with existing utilities.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to company safety policies and industry standards during all phases of fieldwork.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in engineering technology or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in subsurface utility locating or a related role.
• Proficiency with utility locating equipment such as electromagnetic locators and GPR systems.
• Familiarity with CAD software and GIS systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of utility construction methods and materials.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
