Janitor/Light Maintenance

Position: Janitor/Light Maintenance (Part-Time)

Department: Maintenance Department

Reports to: Maintenance Coordinator

Position Summary:

Assist and work with the maintenance team in performing light maintenance, cleaning, and janitorial assignments at all Matt Urban Center managed facilities. The janitorial worker will be professional at all times and be a highly motivated team player. The worker must have experience working with diverse populations and a desire to be part of an organization that supports individuals with a high range of needs.

Responsibilities:

• Routine janitorial work and general cleaning duties; sweeping, moping, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, re-stocking of restroom supplies, requisition of maintenance and building supplies etc.
• Removal of trash; being aware of trash and recycling pick-up schedules
• Reporting of problems and needed repair work; work write ups. Report repairs, damages and or any situations affecting the safe and healthy operation of the facility. Also report complaints and concerns.
• Change light bulbs as needed
• Cleaning of apartments, restrooms, common areas, stairwells, elevators, windows, carpets, floors, etc., as requested
• Assist in the total rehab cleaning of apartments for rent-ups
• Seasonal responsibilities; such as snow and ice removal, general grounds keeping and keeping parking lots and adjacent sidewalk areas clean of debris, basic yard work and weeding, if needed.
• Must have the ability to work independently and complete work orders in a timely manner
• Monthly on call hours after regular businees hours
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Janitorial and cleaning experience
• Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

• Must have transportation and be able to drive to multiple building sites throughout the work day. Mileage is reimbursed.
• Must be capable to perform daily physical work, including walking up and down stairs, bending, some lifting of equipment and supplies, etc...
