Definition:Under the direction of the Vice President of Administrative Services, perform a variety of administrative duties related to the organization and implementation of the College's, maintenance, and daily operations; provide overall supervision and coordination of the College's, building maintenance, groundskeeping, custodial, safety and delivery functions; maintain compliance with College policies and local, state and federal laws and regulations; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff. Representative Duties:Oversee the planning, organizing and direction of a variety of programs, projects and activities related to the, groundskeeping, custodial, safety and delivery functions of the College; ensure that time, cost and quality objectives of projects are met; and develop routine maintenance schedules for College facilities and equipment. Assist in facilities master planning; provide information, extract data reports, complete forms and other information; the use of existing facilities and other matters related to college buildings. Communicate project status as directed; establish and maintain effective relationships with business and community groups and members, vendors, tradespersons, employees and students. Make recommendation in area of assignment concerning the implementation of College maintenance and operation, prepare reports and interpretations of related data for College staff and the public for decision making; complete plans and prepare reports as needed. Assist with the evaluation of special facility needs related to educational programs or unusual school problems, traffic flow, economy of maintenance, recommend solutions. Ensure these facilities meet safety regulations and adhere to the Americans with Disability Act with appropriate access to facilities. Ensure compliance with all of College policies, local, state and federal codes, laws and regulations applicable to assigned responsibilities; ensure cooperation in bidding procedures and that contract awards comply with College policies. Participate in ongoing training to enhance professional skills; acquire, maintain and provide current state-of-the-art status in methods and techniques; coordinate with local, state and national institutions or agencies; identify and prioritize in-service training needs; train employees in the safe operations of equipment and in the operation of building systems throughout the college. Direct the preparation of preliminary and annual budgets for assigned departments and areas of responsibility; ensure expenditures of approved budget are in conformance with College fiscal procedures. Establish department goals and objectives which are consistent with College policies; supervise assigned professional, managerial and support staff; present as needed; provide consultative services on departmental matters. Assist in the coordination of, procurement of materials, equipment, vehicle and tools related to areas of responsibility. Performs personnel functions (e.g. interviewing, evaluating, supervising, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing, enhancing productivity of personnel and achieving objectives within budget. Provide technical expertise, information and assistance to the Vice President of Administrative Services regarding assigned functions; assist in the formulation and development of policies, procedures and programs; design, develop and supervise a comprehensive plan for snow removal of all roads, parking lots, patios and doorways to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors to campus. Direct the preparation and maintenance of a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to personnel and assigned activities. Communicate with other administrators, personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities and programs; resolve issues and conflicts and exchange information. Operate all machinery used in the maintenance, custodial and grounds operation of the college. Operate a computer, office equipment and assigned software programs; attend and conduct a variety of meetings as assigned; drive a vehicle to conduct work. Serves on a variety of district committees as requested or as they pertain to purchasing. Participates in district all-staff events including but not limited to all campus team building day, convocation, state of the college address, senior day, and graduation.
