Job Summary :
Under general supervision, cleans the interior of transit buses and other vehicles; and related duties that may be assigned.
Essential Job Functions :
- Cleans interior of transit buses including floors, seats, side panels, overhead panels, and windows using appropriate equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Inspects interior of bus for cut seats, loose handrails, passenger mishaps, damaged advertising posters, obvious mechanical or apparatus defects, and reports such to the Lead Cleaner or delegate.
- Brings any unsafe practice or condition to the attention of the Maintenance Supervisor or delegate.
- Removes stains and graffiti; deodorizes and disinfects bus interior; and removes litter from bus interior.
- Maintains decals on the buses; changes information posters as directed; and checks operator compartment for appropriate supplies and equipment and replaces as necessary.
- Moves District vehicles from parking area to cleaning bay and returns vehicles to parking area.
- Accurately maintains daily cleaning records.

Compensation and Work Schedule :
This position is a full-time, non-exempt position, eligible for the regular ATU benefits package. The pay rate begins at $23.98 per hour. Work is performed at night in internal and external environments with exposure to all weather conditions and challenging situations. Equipment utilized includes various transit buses, forklift and other vehicles and a two-way radio system.
