Job Summary
LTHC is seeking part-time Safety Staff for the center. LTHC provides services to those experiencing homelessness.
Shifts are from 6a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a
The Safety Staff create an atmosphere of good hospitality for anyone facing a housing crisis and using LTHC’s supportive services to become housed. They will reinforce this by providing non-judgmental supervision, leadership, and support services to LTHC guests and staff. De-escalation is essential in this role. Applicants must possess qualities in helping others calm down and feel safe.
This position plays a vital role in welcoming guests to our organization and its programs and in setting the tone for our low-barrier, drop-in center. Responsibilities include overseeing guests, de-escalating conflict, collaborating with other staff, documenting data, and following policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required: Experience working with marginalized populations. Essential skills include a passion for helping people experiencing homelessness, ability to set boundaries and maintain professionalism, conflict resolution skills, strong de-escalation skills and excellent communication skills. Must be detail oriented and have a demonstrated ability to lead and influence as part of a team. Proficiency with computers and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities is also essential.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands Include: Ability to be on your feet at least 85% of the day, the occasional moving of objects up to 50 pounds, constant moving about to accomplish tasks and moving from one workstation to another, constant communication with others to exchange information in a noisy environment, and daily exposure to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

Job Duties:
· Enforce program rules, policies and procedures, in a respectful manner, in order to provide a safe, dignified and respectful atmosphere
· Monitor:
o behavior of the guests at LTHC
o vehicle traffic entering and leaving properties
o security cameras
· Conduct regular rounds of facility and interact with guests in a positive manner
· Ensure that all persons on the property are enrolled in LTHC services
· Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are upheld and followed
· Communicate regularly with Shelter Staff regarding suspicious activity
· Educate staff and guests on safety procedures
· Provide any necessary proactive crisis interventions
· Identify and ensure proper and timely documentation/notification of any safety concerns, emergencies, situations or general maintenance needs of the facility and grounds to ensure compliance with any and all safety, regulatory and health standards
· Complete reports to management, as needed, using daily logs, forms, google drive, email, and phone calls
