Overview:
LTL Machining is a 100-year-old precision machine shop seeking a part-time Quality Inspector to work ~15–20 hours per week. This role is ideal for a semi-retired machinist or inspector looking to stay active in the trade without the fulltime hours.
If you're also comfortable running CNC machines, we can offer extra hours — but that’s completely optional.
Job Type: Part-Time (15–20 hrs/week)
Schedule: Flexible daytime hours
Responsibilities:
- Inspect machined parts using calipers, micrometers, height gages, and more
- Perform in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Document inspection results and support shop quality efforts
- (Optional) Operate CNC mills or lathes when inspection volume is low or for extra hours.
Requirements:
- 5 years experience in machining or quality inspection
- Ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
- Detail-oriented and dependable
- Comfortable working independently in a small, high-quality shop
- CNC machine operation is a plus, but not required
