Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for all matters relation to the IT development and maintenance of Contractor systems to include the electronic scheduling capability.
- Manage and oversee system performance, troubleshooting, integration with the DXP, user support, security, and system upgrades.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and management of scalable and secure IT applications and infrastructure.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers and ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Identify and deploy cutting edge technologies to support telehealth, virtual care, and readiness initiatives.
- Ensure seamless integration of IT systems with existing military of systems (MHS) infrastructure.
- Manage IT project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful implementation and sustainment.
- Establish metrics to monitor the performance, reliability, and scalability of IT systems.
- Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, standards, and protocols.
- Implement robust data protection measures to safeguard sensitive health and readiness information.
- Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity risks, ensuring the resilience of IT infrastructure.
- Collaborate with military branches, federal agencies, and industry partners to align IT efforts and share best practices.
- Provide regular updates on IT initiatives, challenges, and accomplishments to senior leadership.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and advanced analytics, to enhance remote healthcare delivery and readiness assessment.
- Promote the use of interoperable systems to facilitate data sharing and improve care coordination.
- Oversee IT budgets, contracts, and personnel to optimize resource allocation.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT solutions.
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of IT professionals dedicated to supporting the program’s objectives.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field plus ten years of experience in a senior technology leadership role or CIO/IT Director role.
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare, cloud infrastructure, software development, software engineering, cybersecurity frameworks, enterprise applications, data analytics for decision making and IT governance practices.
- Proven experience managing large-scale IT programs, including telehealth or healthcare-related technologies.
- Prior military service or experience working within the DoD healthcare system is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Military Health System (MHS) operations and readiness requirements.
- Experience with health IT standards, such as HL7, FHIR, or interoperability protocols.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI, ML, and blockchain, relevant to healthcare IT is highly desirable.
