JOB TITLE: MEDICAL SUPPLY TECH
GOVERNMENT AGENCY & LOCATION: WALTER REED NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICAL CENTER
JOB SUMMARY:
This position will serve as a Supply Technician providing operations support pertaining to medical supply items. The duties will include forward logistics, receiving, stocking, selecting and storing medical supply items, supply turn-in, and medical group vehicle care taking. This includes receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, pick-up and delivery of general or specialized bulk materials and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Types various forms, correspondence and reports using a variety of word processing, spreadsheets, staff communications and DMLSS. Answers routine inquires of a non-technical nature based on personal knowledge of subject or from information obtained by references to current correspondence and office records.
- Conducts Property Accountability functions to include inventories, Financial Liability Investigation, equipment acceptance and excess.
- Uses a computer terminal to type a wide variety of material for Equipment Management staff from rough drafts with responsibility for punctuation, spelling, grammar, format and arrangement. Inputs information into a variety of computer systems.
- Makes necessary conferences arrangements and assemble background materials.
- Maintains a current knowledge of equipment management established procedures and answers employee questions on procedures, policy directives, etc.
- Obtains needed information or decisions from Supervisor, Equipment Management Division. Provide status of their work and any problems that occur.
- Conduct property accountability inventories, correlate and analyze data, document and input data in the DMLSS system.
- Responsible for proper record keeping, tagging, tracking, data collection, receiving, and transferring of equipment to the various hand receipts within the hospital.
- Responsible for tracking lost equipment, assisting in the Financial Liability Investigation (FLI) process to include preparing documents, spreadsheets, graphs, charts and power point presentation using Microsoft applications.
- Assist the Excess Equipment Manager with the turn-in of excess.
- Operate forklifts, powered and manually operated pallet jacks and other hand operated material handling equipment.
- The contractor shall enter plant account information pertaining to equipment in the proper logs in DMLSS accurately and in a timely manner.
- The contractor shall assign the correct identification tag, depending on the class of new equipment and identify previous equipment and place tag in a visible location on the equipment.
- The contractor shall obtain the proper signatures of the departments either the Equipment Custodians or the department head.
- The contractor shall regulate the equipment excess and survey programs, One Stop, DRMO disposal, excess supplies, furniture and equipment.
- The contractor must perform various office functions and other related tasks assigned.
- Responsible for proper record keeping, tagging, tracking, data collection, receiving, and transferring of equipment to the various hand receipts within the hospital.
- Load and un-load material from both government and commercial trucks or delivery services certifying quantities received/shipped according to transportation documents.
- The contractor shall assign the correct identification tag, depending on the class of new equipment and identify previous equipment and place tag in a visible location on the equipment.
- The contractor shall obtain the proper signatures of the departments either the Equipment Custodians or the department head.
- The contractor must perform various office functions and other related tasks assigned.
- Responsible for preparing documents, proper record keeping and data input into various systems.
- Responsible for tracking in excel format all FLIs, prepare documents.
- Provide an average of 24,000 administrative support actions annually, performing an average of 4 actions and hour.
- The contractor shall maintain a valid state driver’s licenses to operate GSA Van within the installation to deliver supplies and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mandatory knowledge and skills:
- Possess knowledge of and experience with DMLSS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and
- Outlook.
- Possess exceptional oral and written communication skills as well as tact in person and on the
- telephone.
- Possess ability to tactfully inform others of proper procedures to accomplish mission.
- Possess organizational and time management skills.
- Possess customer Service skills.
- Possess adaptability and flexibility for short suspense and project turnaround.
- Be a U.S citizen.
EDUCATION: Must have a High School Diploma and the ability to learn new tasks.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of six (6) months experience in a supply or warehouse setting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work is a combination of sedentary duties as well as light to moderate physical effort.
- Requirements include walking, standing, reaching, bending and moving items.
- May require lifting and carrying weight over 45 pounds. Works periodically on hard surfaces.
POSITION INFORMATION: This will be a full-time position, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays.

Qualifications
Salary : $38 - $40
