Loan Processor (Agricultural & Commercial)

Responsibilities

A Loan Processor is responsible for accurately preparing loan documentation for agricultural and commercial loans for Loan Officers both in Luana and across all branch locations (remotely from Luana). This individual will work directly with Loan Officers and other Loan Processors or support staff to prepare, close, and board loans. Providing complete loan files per company policy and current regulations is essential. This individual prepares preliminary disclosures and closing documents within required regulatory timelines. 

Additionally, this position performs responsibilities including but not limited to, checking back loans boarded in the core system, core maintenance/reversals, balancing GL reconciliation, filing/releases of UCCs and mortgages, filing, wire transfers and administration. Responsible for appropriately managing requests relating to loan portfolios and providing timely and reliable documentation packages. Other duties include notary services, scanning, processing incoming payoffs, setting up AFT/ACH payments, collateral building, tracking, answering phones, participation in internal loan committees, and more. 

Professional and positive service must be provided to customers, Loan Officers, and any other parties involved throughout the loan process. This individual should have the ability to exercise extreme organization, prioritization, multitask, and have a strong comfort level working in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines when required. This individual should be able to work both independently and with a team as needed.

All staff members work Saturdays on a rotating schedule.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 1 years of loan-related experience or progressively more responsible experience at a financial institution. (Personal banking, loan processing/support, loan operations.)
  
• Highly attentive to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills. 
• Exceptional communication skills and display of professionalism.
• Self-motivated with a drive for self-development and learning.
• Team player, supportive and collaborative attitude with ability to work with other staff members to process loan related tasks efficiently and accurately.
  
• Satisfy Loan Officer or customer inquiries in a professional manner.
• Stay apprised of and follow all established policies, procedures, and regulations.

• Cross-sell appropriate products and services to current and prospective customers.
  
• Ensure clients and customers are connected to other individuals and resources they require.
• Capacity to search for ideas that may improve processes and enhance procedural efficiencies.
• Aptitude to problem solve and exercise common sense. 
• Intermediate computer skills with ability to operate Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Reside within a 25 mile radius from the Luana office or willing to relocate - please include location/relocation details in cover letter or resume submission.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Desired Skills

• Minimum of 1 years of agricultural or commercial loan processing experience at a financial institution. 
• Knowledge of commercial and agricultural documentation, procedures, and processing.
• Experience in Jack Henry core systems and Laser Pro loan origination system.
• Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a related field.

Additional Info

• At-Will, Full-Time position based on 40 hours per week - when scheduled on a Saturday compensating time off is given during the week worked
• Schedule is 8AM-4:30PM M-F; 8AM-11AM Sat
• Travel: Minimal for occasional training
• Employment is subject to background and credit check
