Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee the nursing staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in management and patient care. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for managing nursing operations within a private practice setting and within your scope of practice, ensuring compliance with medical standards and protocols while fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients. Their duties include training, scheduling and mentoring nursing staff and managing a budget for their team.
Duties
- Manage daily nursing operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to medical protocols and standards of care in accordance with hospital policies.
- Supervise nursing staff across various departments, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care quality and implement improvements as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and advancements in nursing practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to nursing staff on best practices in patient care.
- Address any issues related to patient safety or staff performance promptly and effectively.
- Create goals and objectives for their department and make sure they are met by the staff.
- Keep and organize records of the department.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Recruit and train nurses, medical assistants and other health professionals.
- Assists with office procedures as necessary.
- Maintains quality results by following and enforcing standards.
- Serves and protects the health care community by adhering to professional standards, clinic policies and procedures, federal state and local requirements and standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of standard office machinery including computer systems, fax machines, copiers, and various applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Five years medical office experience is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS is required
- Current nursing license LVN or RN
Remote Flexibility: This position may be allowed to perform some essential functions while working from home. Working from home can be permitted on occasion.
