Purchasing & Expediting Specialist
Position Summary
Lubker Distribution Inc., a family-owned industrial supply distributor in West Chester, PA, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing & Expediting Specialist to support our procurement and supply chain operations. This role is essential in ensuring timely and efficient purchasing, order tracking, and expediting of materials to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, supplier communication, and logistics coordination, with a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Order Management
- Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records of all purchases.
- Monitor order confirmations, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines to ensure ontime fulfillment.
- Work closely with suppliers to address any discrepancies in order quantities, pricing, or quality.
- Maintain accurate purchase order documentation and ensure timely updates in the ERP system.
Expediting & Supplier Coordination
- Track and follow up on outstanding purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding production status, shipping delays, and potential disruptions.
- Work with carriers and logistics partners to expedite shipments when necessary.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to improve response times and mitigate risks.
- Proactively identify and resolve any issues affecting material availability.
Logistics & Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
- Track and manage inbound shipments, identifying delays and proactively resolving issues.
- Work with carriers to expedite critical orders when necessary.
- Ensure shipping and receiving teams have accurate information to process incoming materials efficiently.
- Assist in resolving freightrelated disputes or discrepancies.
Qualifications & Skills
- 2 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably in industrial distribution.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple open orders.
- Experience working with suppliers and logistics providers.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Knowledge of fasteners or industrial products is a plus.
