Field Service Technician

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, skilled, and dependable Construction Equipment Field Service Technician at our Springfield, IL location. This person will specialize in the critical and complex troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of Heavy Construction Equipment and associated accessories at customer job sites throughout the area. The successful candidate will be an independent problem solver who is responsive to customers' needs and represents our company in a safe, professional manner.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair construction equipment failures both in-house and at customer locations.
- Perform repairs on equipment and accessories including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and diesel engines.
- Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on heavy construction equipment in the field.
- Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens utilizing company laptop and/or ipad.
- Engages customers in a professional manner and anticipates prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics and diagrams.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment.
- Prepare various reports as directed to maintain accurate records on equipment and preventive maintenance.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma, GED required. Certification or degree in Diesel Technology Program preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience servicing and maintenance of heavy construction equipment.
- OSHA-10

- CDL; clean MVR
