Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grading Foremen to oversee our construction projects and ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of construction and Grading processes. As a Grading Foreman, you will be responsible for managing crews, directing daily work, coordinating project schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties
- Supervise and lead a team of workers on-site to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Review project plans and schematics to understand the scope of work and establish timelines.
- Utilize tools such as Bluebeam for project scheduling and documentation management.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Manage contract negotiations and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Oversee the use of heavy equipment
- Facilitate effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and clients regarding project progress.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing input on material costs, labor requirements, and project timelines.
- Train new employees on safety protocols and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the civil construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematic interpretation.
- Familiarity with project management.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in quality control measures to ensure high standards of work are met.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
- Knowledge of budgeting practices related to construction projects is a plus.
