We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for our client Avara with a background in retail/e-commerce to join our growing finance team and manage the accounting function in our fast-paced retail environment. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting for the company by managing revenue, A/P, month-end close, inventory, financial reporting, and other accounting processes as required. The candidate must be tech-savvy, proficient in QuickBooks Online and MS Excel, and, ideally, have experience in accounting within an e-commerce company. The Accounting Manager should have experience with month-end journal entries, a working knowledge of accrual accounting, and the ability to function as a full-charge bookkeeper.
Responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager will serve as the company’s full-charge bookkeeper and be responsible for:
- Overseeing accounts payable, including ensuring invoices are recorded in the correct period and paid timely
- Working with other departments within the organization to ensure expenses are reported correctly
- Reconciling all cash accounts and credit cards
- Working with the controller to prepare month-end journal entries
- Ensuring the payroll is recorded accurately and in the correct period
- Preparing other month-end journal entries with a focus on things like revenue, prepaid expenses, accruals, and inventory adjustments
- Recommending improvements to the month-end and year-end close procedures
- Overseeing inventory counts as required
- Ensuring that sales tax is paid timely
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Required Experience:
- At least 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in accounting
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
