Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Financial Operations to oversee and optimize key operational areas that support our services offerings. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President of Financial Operations will lead the treasury (working capital funding), tax processing, credit & underwriting, and accounts receivable teams, ensuring that these critical functions operate efficiently, accurately, and with the highest level of compliance. The Vice President of Financial Operations will be responsible for documenting current processes, driving process improvements, and enhancing the system architecture that supports these financial services.
General Responsibilities
Treasury
- Ensure client fundings are processed timely and accurately, maintaining a steady flow of working capital.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and manage potential risks within the funding portfolio to safeguard the organization’s financial position.
Tax Processing
- Oversee all tax-related activities, including calculations, filings, and remittances, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Implement standardized procedures to maintain accuracy, reduce errors, and streamline tax workflows.
Credit & Underwriting
- Develop and enforce credit policies, underwriting standards, and approval processes that align with organizational risk tolerance.
- Monitor client creditworthiness, identify emerging risks, and collaborate with internal teams to mitigate potential credit issues.
Accounts Receivable
- Manage billing, invoicing, and payment collection processes to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment discrepancies, disputes, or client concerns.
Process Documentation & Improvement
- Conduct thorough analyses and maintain documentation of current workflows, identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for automation.
- Implement systematic improvements to enhance accuracy, reduce costs, and streamline day-to-day financial operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, legal requirements, and auditing standards through robust internal controls.
System Architecture & Technology Enablement
- Collaborate with IT and relevant stakeholders to assess and enhance the technological infrastructure supporting financial services.
- Evaluate, recommend, and integrate new tools or platforms to increase operational efficiency and provide scalable solutions for growth.
- Maintain alignment between system capabilities and evolving customer and industry requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage teams responsible for treasury (funding), tax, credit & underwriting, and accounts receivable.
- Establish performance objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and accountability metrics to ensure team success.
Recruit, train, and retain top talent to build a high-performing, collaborative culture.
Strategic Oversight & Expansion
- Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer and executive leadership to define, align, and communicate the strategic vision for the financial operations function.
- Oversee the implementation of best practices and guidelines for risk management, internal controls, and compliance within supervised teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Client Services, Product, and other internal teams to ensure that financial operations align with business goals and customer needs.
- Act as a liaison between senior leadership and frontline staff, translating broader business objectives into actionable steps for supervised teams.
- Coordinate with Human Resources to facilitate employee development, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial operations experience, with at least 3 years in an operations leadership role.
- Experience within the Software Industry, Payroll Processing Industry, Specialty Financing Industry (Accounts Receivable Factoring).
Skills
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and team-building skills.
- Proven track record of driving process improvements, implementing new technologies, and managing complex projects.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, accounting software and financial systems
- Intermediate proficiency with SQL
Physical Requirements:

Salary : $148,000 - $264,000
