Is This For You?

Our Engineering Co-Ops will work the duration of their co-op assignment (multiple terms) in both Applications Engineering and New Product Development (NPD) Engineering. Our Co-ops are hands-on across the organization and given business projects with deliverables for each semester.

This is a formal Co-op (multiple terms) with the potential to work part time during "off" terms.

What Are We Looking For?

Applications Engineering Functions

• Consults with customers on product applications via telephone, email or site visits, and works to develop sales opportunities by promoting all of the products and services Lucas Milhaupt has available.
• Maintains an awareness of current company R&D projects and significant new products or processes and helps provide Application Engineering support and perspective to New Product Development (NPD) projects as directed.
• Assists full time Applications Engineering team in customer part and failure analysis, new product testing, customer inquiries, and product selection.
• Past projects have included: fixture and testing device design, creation of Design of Experiments from start to finish including ideation, testing, and report out to management team, analysis of new products that have increased market share, and process improvements for customers in multiple industries including (but not limited to): automotive, aerospace, medical, and construction.

New Product Development (NPD) Engineering Functions

• Focus on innovating next generation technologies to assist our customers in their current and future product lines.
• Work with full-time NPD and Applications engineers on key next generation projects for our customers employing disciplines of materials science, CAD design, mechanical engineering and exposure to new emerging technologies.
• Work with Process Engineers and the operations team to understand what is necessary to improve productivity on the production floor.
• Report out to senior management on what projects were worked on, what accomplishments were achieved and how it ultimately benefits the company.
