The Account Executive (AE) manages key strategic aspects of account work with moderate administrative duties; has regular communication and contact with clients and exercises oversight duties with the Apprentices and Interns. Familiarity with California political and regulatory issues and the news media is required.

As an Account Executive you will:
- Support senior staff by coordinating and managing key account activities and plans.
- Track news clips related to the client and the client’s key issues
- Develop and maintain jobs in progress, project calendar, client files, and other key client documents to keep accounts organized and on track
- Prepare and document client updates and plans
- Develop media plans, research analyses, press releases, and outreach documents, and execute media programs
- Organize and participate in client meetings
- Support the management of media, legislative, and stakeholder relationships on behalf of the client
- Assist with client billings, staff utilization, and contract developments, including monitoring client payments, etc.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in public affairs, government affairs, journalism, lobbying, or related work; with a BA/BS in a related field preferred
- Strong knowledge and understanding of California’s political and public affairs environment, and the news media
- Demonstrate social and digital media enthusiasm and deliver innovative ways to leverage the latest trends and platforms
- Agency experience is highly preferred; experience in a public affairs/public policy agency is preferred
- Industry knowledge and experience required, including a broad knowledge of concepts related to multiple industries, such as energy, higher education, public health, tourism, technology, health care, insurance, and transportation
- Exhibit a demonstrated track record of implementing/executing strategic communications programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal, written, and over the phone
- Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
