Temporary Oral Surgery Assistant

Experienced Certified/Licensed Oral Surgery Assistant wanted to join our talented team for full time Temporary placement at our state-of –the-art doctor owned oral surgery practice conveniently located in the heart of Boston’s Copley Square. We are looking for an outgoing, friendly, and highly organized individual to aid in providing outstanding patient centered care. Previous experience and comfort with oral surgery and anesthesia assisting is desired. Applicants need to hold a current active dental assistant license in Massachusetts, be BLS/CPR Certified, and possess and produce Radiology Certification in Massachusetts. We require an experienced assistant to join our team while our team members are on maternity leave.

Responsibilities include assisting with all oral surgery procedures and understanding the particulars involved for dental implant placement, sterilization, setting up and breaking down rooms, providing pre/post operative care instructions, assisting the Doctor with consultations, obtaining digital radiographs, general office upkeep to include but not limited to maintenance of inventory logs and supply ordering. All Clinical employees are cross trained for clerical tasks to these will mostly include fielding clinical related phone calls from patients, appointment scheduling, and post operative wellness checks).

Candidates should have a working knowledge of Universal Precautions and have aptitude for obtaining a working knowledge of dental radiology, aseptic technique, chair-side assisting, CPR, basic head and neck anatomy & physiology, and the potential complications and management of emergencies during general anesthesia.
