Job Title : Director of Operations - Home Services Company (Plumbing, Irrigation, Outdoor Lighting, Fertilization as well as Home Remodeling)

Reports To : Chief Operations Officer
Job Summary :
The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the operations of various service divisions within a home services company (keeping this general . These divisions include Plumbing, Irrigation, Outdoor Lighting, Fertilization as well as Home Remodeling. The Director of Operations will manage division managers who are responsible for supervising field technicians and ensuring high standards of service delivery across all areas. This is a key leadership role that will drive the operational success and growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Leadership & Team Management :
- Lead and provide strategic direction to division managers overseeing operations in Plumbing, Irrigation, Outdoor Lighting, Fertilization as well as Home Remodeling.
- Offer ongoing support to division managers, ensuring that all service areas are functioning efficiently and meeting company standards.
- Conduct performance reviews with division managers and facilitate regular communication to ensure alignment of goals and priorities.
- Drive sales to achieve budget and growth
2. Operational Oversight :
Ensure that all divisions deliver high-quality services in line with established procedures and customer expectations.Collaborate with division managers and customer service to optimize workflows, improve operational efficiency, and ensure that customer needs are met on time and within budget.Resolve operational challenges and streamline processes to drive business performance.3. Financial Management :
Manage financial performance across all divisions, ensuring profitability and adherence to budgets.Provide guidance to division managers on cost control measures and resource allocation to achieve financial targets.Regularly review financial reports and work with division managers to implement corrective actions as needed.Purchasing and Inventory oversight4. Customer Relations & Growth :
Work closely with division managers to address customer concerns and ensure consistent, top-tier service delivery.Lead efforts to identify business development opportunities and help grow customer relationships across all service areas.Support the creation of strategies to retain existing clients and attract new business.5. Compliance & Safety :
Ensure that each division operates in compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.Promote a strong culture of safety, ensuring all teams follow appropriate protocols and best practices in the field.Monitor compliance and safety metrics, addressing any areas for improvement.6. Reporting & Strategic Planning :
Monitor operational performance across all divisions and provide regular reports to the executive team on key metrics, including financials, customer satisfaction, and service efficiency.Collaborate with division managers to develop long-term strategies aimed at achieving business goals and improving company operations.Assist in identifying areas of opportunity for business growth and process improvements.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Operations, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.Experience :
10 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within home service or related service industries.Proven ability to manage multiple divisions or teams and demonstrate strong leadership and problem-solving skills.Familiarity with the home services industry, specifically Plumbing, Irrigation, Outdoor Lighting, Fertilization as well as Home Remodeling sectors is highly desirable.Skills :
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Proven team builderProven financial management skills with the ability to work within budgets, track financial performance, and drive profitability.Excellent strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships.Proficiency in relevant software for scheduling, reporting, and financial tracking.Certifications (Preferred) :
