FUNCTION OF POSITION
To serve as an educational leader of the school; to be responsible for campus control, attendance, discipline and class functions for the area assigned; to participate in staff and student activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree or equivalent; minimum of three years successful classroom teaching - related administrative experience activities beneficial; knowledge of communication skills, behavior patterns of high school students; ability to work well with students, staff and parents, identify with the community and its needs and resources; must have valid California Administration credential.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Interpret and apply state, county and school district laws, regulations, policies and procedures at the school site; direct and assist assigned staff in carrying out an effective instructional program through conferences, meetings and bulletins; assist with curriculum development; assist in activities necessary to support a program of student counseling and discipline by conferring with parents, health and guidance staffs, and teachers, concerning problems of student adjustment, and assist the teachers as necessary in maintaining discipline and school attendance; assist with campus control; assist in liaison with probation and civil authorities; assist with schedule development and data processing; coordinate class activities; supervise attendance; assist with teacher evaluation; serve as member of the high school administrative committee; carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
