Luciano’s Excavation is a family -owned excavation company based out of Taunton, MA. Luciano’s has been in business for over 11 years and has completed various multi-million-dollar projects across the New England area.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Excavation Superintendent to lead and oversee all aspects of excavation operations on our job site. The Excavation Superintendent will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe execution of excavation projects, adhering to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage a team of excavation personnel and equipment.
Job Duties:
· Develop project plans and schedules that outline tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. Ensure that projects are on track and meet established milestones.
· Oversee the day-to-day operations at excavation sites, including coordinating equipment and personnel, monitoring safety protocols, and ensuring that work is progressing according to the plan.
· Allocate equipment, materials, and labor resources as needed to meet project goals. This includes tracking resource usage and optimizing resource allocation to control costs.
· Enforce and promote strict adherence to safety regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and hazard assessments. Adhere to OSHA Safety policies.
· Implement quality control measures to ensure that excavation work meets industry standards and project specifications. Inspect the site and work regularly to identify and address issues.
· Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Provide regular project updates, address concerns, and ensure that client expectations are met.
· Identify and resolve issues that arise during excavation projects, such as unexpected ground conditions, equipment malfunctions, or logistical challenges. Develop and implement solutions to keep the project on track.
Essential Skills:
· In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques, equipment, and relevant industry standards is crucial. This includes understanding different soil types, shoring methods, and the operation of heavy machinery.
· Proficiency in safety regulations and protocols is essential for ensuring a safe work environment. Excavation superintendents must enforce safety measures, conduct regular safety inspections, and lead safety training sessions.
· Strong project management skills, including the ability to create and manage project schedules, allocate resources, and control costs, are vital for the successful execution of excavation projects.
· The ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during excavation projects, such as unforeseen ground conditions, equipment breakdowns, or logistical challenges.
· Effective communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, engineers, project managers, and other team members. Clear and concise communication helps ensure that everyone is aligned and informed.
· Excavation superintendents are responsible for leading and managing a team of workers, equipment operators, and subcontractors. Effective leadership and team management skills are necessary for success.
· Proficiency in budget management and cost control to ensure that excavation projects remain within budget. This involves tracking expenses, managing subcontractor contracts, and optimizing resource allocation.
