We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer, Power Electronics as part of product engineering organization in the plant. The candidate will work with multi-disciplinary teams to drive product/specification related investigations to resolution for the products in production. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for impactful results in a fast-paced environment
The Role:
o Responsible for design intent assembly requirements of power electronics components used in electric powertrain.
o Data driven proactive problem solving & issue avoidance due to process deviations or critical part quality issues.
o Troubleshoot all HV System electrical issues which includes BMS hardware, Inverter PCBAs, HV Junction box, & associated electrical hardware.
o Drive product issue investigations at the factory to resolution by effective change management where practical
o Provide design for manufacturability & serviceability feedback in future product development processes. o Drive risk-assessments from product perspective on process/part deviations
Qualifications:
o Solid background in power electronics components and circuits
o Good understanding of analog and digital electronics circuits
o Hands-on hardware experience in electronics design for high-voltage and high-power applications
o Familiar with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Probe, Power Analyzer etc.)
o Familiar with electromagnetic compatibility, Power Electronics functionality tests etc
o Well versed in power conversion topologies for DC/AC and AC/DC converters
o Excellent in data analysis using statistics Minitab or JMP, Python, MATLAB
o Familiar DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, DFM, & RCA with cross-functional teams
o Travel is required between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA on as needed basis
o Exceptional communication and documentation skills are required.
Preferred:
o Prior experience on automotive power electronics hardware
o Product development experience on power electronics products
Education:
o BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of experience in electrical/embedded design, product problem solving, & testing
o MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience electrical/embedded design, product problem solving, & testing
