Job Summary:
A leading general contractor is seeking an experienced and proactive Traveling Commercial Construction Superintendent. This role requires an organized, detail-oriented professional capable of overseeing multiple commercial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on ground-up construction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing the day-to-day operations of job sites, maintaining rigorous schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This position will involve regular travel to various job sites across the region to supervise commercial projects such as restaurants, automotive service centers, and other similar structures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Supervision: Lead, supervise, and coordinate all field activities for assigned commercial construction projects from inception to completion.
- Site Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the construction site, including oversight of subcontractors, on-site safety protocols, and quality control.
- Schedule and Budget Adherence: Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget by actively monitoring construction progress and resolving any scheduling conflicts or delays.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Project Manager and project team to ensure timely communication on project progress, challenges, and change orders.
- Problem-Solving: Address on-site issues as they arise, including unforeseen conditions or technical challenges, while providing clear guidance to subcontractors and team members.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of work completed to ensure it meets the company’s quality standards and adheres to local building codes and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, safety logs, and schedule updates.
- Client Interaction: Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations managed throughout the construction process.
- Compliance and Safety: Enforce and adhere to all safety and regulatory requirements, fostering a safety-first culture on-site.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a superintendent role within commercial construction, with a focus on ground-up projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel extensively to project sites across the Midwest, with extended stays as required.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing subcontractors and building effective on-site teams to meet project goals.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex issues that may arise on-site.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to interact professionally with clients and project teams.
- Certification (Preferred): OSHA certification or similar safety-related certification is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; relevant college degree or technical training is a plus.

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and travel-related allowances.
