Lucid is looking for a motivated and experienced employment attorney to join our legal team as Managing Counsel, Labor & Employment. This role will support Lucid’s business leaders and stakeholders in the management and handling of labor and employment-related matters, including day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.

Lucid is looking for a motivated and experienced employment attorney to join our legal team as Managing Counsel, Labor & Employment. This role will support Lucid’s business leaders and stakeholders in the management and handling of labor and employment-related matters, including day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
You Will
- Provide legal advice and counseling on a wide range of labor and employment topics and matters, including performance management, employee discipline, wage and hour issues, labor relations, compensation and benefits, employment agreements, immigration, leaves of absence and accommodations, internal investigations, contingent worker relationships, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
- Act as an on-going partner and resource to Human Resources.
- Manage outside counsel for employment-related litigation, arbitrations, and disputes.
- Draft and review employment-related policies and procedures.
- Investigate and respond to demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other pre-litigation inquiries and disputes.
- Draft and review employment and severance agreements.
- Help develop and conduct training on legal issues for employees, managers, and Human Resources.
- Conduct internal audits and evaluations of internal policies and practices to ensure compliance with business objectives and federal, state, and local laws.
- Help support expansion of operations into new jurisdictions, including development of policies and practices and compliance with location-specific employment laws and regulations.
- Partner with business teams to provide advice and creative solutions to complex problems.
- Identify legal risks and opportunities within the legal and employment area and propose practical, business-minded solutions.
- Work seamlessly and collaboratively as a legal business partner to multiple internal business stakeholders.
- Minimum of 7 years of substantive labor and employment experience with a corporate legal department or top-notch law firm.
- AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred.
- Litigation experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to effectively relay complex information in a concise format.
- Practical business judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects.
- Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful, and taking on additional responsibility.
- Law degree (J.D.) from ABA-accredited institution.
