Manufacturing Chemist

Lucidant Polymers is looking for a Chemist (Manufacturing and Research) to boost our small team in a growing lab -- Sunnyvale, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

· Doing chemistry on a team: organic polymerization, purification, separations, and more.

· Communication (with Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, Purchasing, and Facilities).

· Receiving lab materials Inventory control

· Quality Control: HPLC, FTIR, C13-NMR, density testing, melting point, electrophoresis

· Document: Lucidant is an ISO9001:2015 lab. Our Quality Management System (QMS) is paramount.

· Be onsite in Sunnyvale, CA standard working hours, with room for flexibility.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in STEM (especially chemistry, physics or biology) or equivalent work experience

· 0-6 years work experience in Production, Manufacturing, Sample Prep or Process Development.

· A basic understanding of organic chemistry, reactions, pressure and temperature, and pH

· Working knowledge of lab safety and PPE (from internships, other work experience, or a lab class)

· Willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, a curious mind, and a coachable mindset

· Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. for short periods of time

· Ability to carefully handle solvents and reagents using good technique and safety protocols
