Job Purpose :
The primary purpose of this position is to set up and operate mechanical test stands and related equipment. You will be responsible for the equipment installation and set-up, conducting tests, data acquisition, as well as calibration and maintenance of test equipment. You will be a key contributor in developing new science to support the needs of customers.
Core responsibilities include :
- Set-up and perform various mechanical tests including tensile tests, flexural tests, compression tests and wear tests.
- Prepare samples and instrumentation as needed for testing.
- Set up data acquisition systems, collect data and provide preliminary analysis.
- Perform measurements of test specimens and fixturing using high precision devices such as calipers, micrometers and optical microscopes.
- Maintain complete traceability of all aspects of testing including technical work, test records and relevant documents and correspondence in accordance with Lucideon M P standards.
- Perform calibrations and maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments in accordance with schedules and protocols.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and work with the team to implement.
- Follow all prescribed safety and quality regulations, and maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all required elements of the Quality Assurance program.
- Perform tasks and other duties as assigned
